ALEX JESSOP (Boq)
Alex trained at Laine Theatre Arts. Graduating early, he made his West End debut in Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre where he was swing and understudy ‘Amos’. Alex then moved on to We Will Rock You at London’s Dominion Theatre, where he understudied and played the lead role of ‘Galileo’. Whilst in the show, he was invited to perform “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the Capital Gold Music Awards in front of an invited audience, including Diana Ross, and also performed this very song on stage at the Dominion Theatre with Brian May.
From there he appeared in Saturday Night Fever as ‘Bobby C’ and as the alternate to ‘Tony Manero’ with the UK tour, and then here at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Following this, Alex appeared in the original London cast of Twyla Tharp’s Movin’ Out, also at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, playing the roles of ‘Sergeant O’Leary’ and ‘Drill Sergeant’.
From there he played the role of ‘Eddie’ and understudy ‘Sky’ in the international tour of Mamma Mia!, performing in
China, the Middle East and Europe. Alex was also invited to appear as a vocalist for Christmas In New York at the Lyric Theatre, as part of the Notes From New York series.
